December can be a time of overwhelm, stress and anxiety. In this time, it may seem counter-intuitive to pause given all that needs to be done, and yet it’s exactly the action needed to re-establish your ability to think with clarity, balance your energy, providing you with renewed strength and calm.
A mandala in the Buddhist tradition literally means “circle” in Sanskrit, but metaphysically represent a microcosm of the universe into human mind. It is used as a sacred space aid for meditation and focus.
For December’s Co-Create, we’re going to create beautiful acrylic painted mandalas on smooth, basalt rocks gathered from Lake Michigan after tossing for millions of years. The healing properties of basalt are many: brings physical/mental strength and courage, raises energy levels, enhances creativity and libido (oooo, baby!), and brings stability. Who wouldn’t benefit from this during this commonly crazed season?! Your stone will be custom painted with your prayer, then you can carry it as a source of strength through the season.
After a mandala is created, you can also choose to make a holiday stone… because it’s so addicting! Check out my stones below! So fun.
